CodeNest ("we", "us") runs a free, browser-based in-app IDE at this domain. This page explains what information the site touches, how it's used, and the choices you have. We've written it in plain language rather than dense legal text — if anything is unclear, contact us using the details on our Contact page.

What CodeNest stores, and where

CodeNest does not have a server or a database. Everything you type into the HTML, CSS and JavaScript files is saved using your browser's localStorage — a small storage area built into your browser. This data:

• Stays on your own device. We never receive a copy of your code.
• Is only readable by this site, in this browser, on this device.
• Is removed if you use "Reset project", or if you clear your browser's site data.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect names, email addresses, or code you write, on any server we control.

Cookies and advertising

CodeNest may display advertisements through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. This helps keep the playground free to use.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or by adjusting cookie preferences in your browser.

Analytics

We may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics (such as aggregated page-view counts) to understand how many people use CodeNest and which features are helpful. This data is anonymized and is not linked to the code you write.

Children's privacy

CodeNest is built to be beginner-friendly, including for students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age, since the playground itself requires no sign-up or personal details.

Your choices

• Clear your saved project anytime with "Reset project" in the explorer panel.
• Clear localStorage manually via your browser's site settings.
• Use a private/incognito window if you'd prefer nothing to be saved at all.

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of CodeNest after changes means you accept the revised policy.
